Forms

Please see below for a copy of our forms regarding school absence.

Please note holidays taken during term time will not be authorised. Only under exceptional circumstances will holiday absences be authorised for example; if you are a service family or a ‘crisis’ impacting the immediate family. Still a notice of 5 working days prior to the proposed start date via the holiday form is required.

If you choose to still take your child out of school for an unauthorised holiday you are most likely to be fined with a fixed penalty notice payable to Central Bedfordshire Council. This fine is payable by each parent with parental responsibility and is currently £60 per adult per child. To action the fine the principal takes into consideration the following factors;

Child attendance percentage: Illness is an authorised absence but still is counted towards the total time absent from school. If a child’s total absence falls below 90% and an unauthorised holiday is taken, a fix penalty notice will be issued.

Number of days away from school: If you apply for more than 5 days in a ten week period this will be unauthorised and a fixed penalty notice issued. If you apply for 5 days or less but your child’s absence has fallen below 90% when including this time away you will also be issued with a fixed penalty fine.

The availability of cheaper holidays during term time is not an acceptable reason to apply for holidays during term time. The Education (Pupil Registration) Regulations 2006 expect schools not to authorise holidays.

Please do help us to support your child with the best possible education we can offer by attending school on time, gates open at 8.50am and school starts at 8.55am. Please send your child into school even when they say they are feeling under the weather. We will always let you know if we feel your child would be better off recovering at home.

Thank you for your consideration.
